Subject Information: B.Sc. (Botany)
O.5108 A Candidate for being eligible for admission to the Three year Integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std.XII) in Science conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent in Science stream.
The University of Mumbai has introduced CBSGS (Credit Based System Grading System from 2011-2012 where in the entire program is divided into Six semesters spread in the span of three years (two semesters per year). The student who enrolls for the degree program have to accumulate 20 credits per term and the degree will be conferred only when the student accumulates 120 credits during the period of Six semesters
The students who enroll for B.Sc Botany has following combinations for the period of three years
1) First year- Semester I and Semester II: Foundation course
Chemistry –Botany - Zoology ( 2 papers + practical Each)
2)Second year- Semester III and Semester IV: Foundation course
Chemistry – Botany ( 3 papers + practical Each)
3) First year- Semester V and Semester VI: Botany (Four papers + two Practicals)
Applied component – Horticulture and Gardening (1 paper and practical)
